Do You Entertain Angels?

Hebrews 13:2 "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it."

A dark figure huddles in the corner between Mr. Turner's grocery store and the city bank. You know the place---"street corner, USA"---a narrow alley way lined with garbage cans. A cold wind blusters and swirls dead leaves around your ankles as you hurry by.

Your peripheral vision catches the empty cup next to the stranger's leg. Within a nano second you debate to leave money or not. You think "let somebody else do it". Patting your jacket pocket, change from your triple mocha latte jingles. Second thoughts (or God's voice) cause you to drop them in the cup.

God's word tells us to help the poor but sometimes our definition of the poor do not include strangers on the streets. In John 11:16, Jesus says "I have other sheep which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd."

Angels have been used by God to deliver messages through out the ages and He continues to use them. We may never know when we are entertaining an Angel but God does

Thank you Terri. The blog still needs a lot of work but I think I have finally figured out what to do.
